Active Healing Work Help Cancer Patients


Ario Health - if you are an employee and suffering from cancer, it does not mean that your career has expired or you no longer can work. In fact, 80 percent of cancer patients are said to return to work hastening the healing process.


The survey indicates that employees suffering from cancer just as productive with other employees. Many cancer patients feel when actively working to get himself like a normal back and were able to gain control of their lives. In a recent survey involving 400 employees were diagnosed with cancer, it is known there are several factors that motivate survivors (survivors) of cancer to return to work, including feeling better, wants to continue the routine, and want to be more productive.


Nearly 80 percent of respondents said that returning to work after being diagnosed with cancer to help the recovery process. In addition, 67 percent of respondents said that the balance between work and life is very important in a career. More than 60 percent of respondents said they do not take time off work or just taking a few days before returning to work after they receive a diagnosis of cancer.


Those who are newly diagnosed or recently treated with medication is the most eager to work. Nearly 73 percent answered, work gives them purpose and identity. Even so, about 20 percent of newly diagnosed cancer patients undergoing treatment or have recently said that the cancer has prevented them from taking professional responsibility and reach their full potential as well as co-workers healthy.


"Currently, cancer patients are generally diagnosed at an early stage and treatment are also more specific on the target so that the stigma against cancer has been reduced," said Kate Sweeney, director of the nonprofit Cancer and Careers. Of course, the patient should consult a doctor about how much can be returned to its original work schedule.
