A research of dariTexas A&M and Texas StateUniversities ask some questions in its survey torespondents aged 50 and older. A research report entitled ' A Profile of OlderAmericans ', wrote that people aged over 50have a greater risk of developing the disease due to decreased frequency of exercise and lifestyle. The study also revealed that the combination of physical activity and increased consumption of fruit or vegetables can reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases.


"Gardening is one of the home's activities at a time when the most popular leisure and activity is reported as the most common stress relievers after walking for people aged above 50 years old," said the researchers, as quoted from Health24.


To find out more about the correlation of health and attitude of someone with the habit of gardening, Sommerfeld make a survey based on Life Satisfaction Inventory A (LSIA), a device that measures the five components of quality of life (' zest for life ', ' resolution and steadfastness ', ' suitability and the desired objectives are achieved ', ' physical, psychological, and social concept of self ' as wellas ' optimism ').


As a result, there are significant differencesin overall life satisfaction and the person who was fond of gardening have average valueis high. More than 84 percent agree with the statement "I've made some plans for what I'm going on next month and next year from now", while not gardening only 68 percent
